Some years ago most of Skylimit Productions’ web designs started to conform to the upcoming trend of fitting all device sizes. Mobile phones, tablets and screens should all yield a website that looked made for that specific device. It is one of our most useful and up to date skills, giving a way stronger impression of professionalism for our customers’ visitors. Now Google has decided to reward you even more for investing in this type of design.
Posted February the 26th, Google wrote a post about how they will reward mobile friendly sites in their ranking system, and now the changes are being rolled out:
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

This of course makes me very happy, since we for a while have had this text on our own website:
“When it comes to our web designs, we are able to deliver—and recommend all our customers to invest in—responsive design. In short, that means the design fits all screen sizes snugly: phones, tablets and computers. Skylimit Productions strongly believe in a seamless experience through all different platforms to give a overall professional impression of your business.”

I took some of our newest websites and ran them through Google’s mobile friendliness test. To my delight they all test positive, and I am happy that Google gave us and our customers this reward for being up to date.
