What is on your heart?

It has been a Monday today. An amazing one. Are you still playing Monday morning blues? You better stop, because that’s old fashioned. The new is Monday morning rock ‘n’ roll.

Right now I am working with WordPress and am in the process of developing my first custom theme. I was amazed at how easy it was (to get started), and it gives me energy to know that the learning curve isn’t to steep. When it is finished you’ll get to see it. It’s good.

I love my job. Maybe you don’t have your dream job right now, but I’ll just take this chance to encourage you. Most of us go through some crappy, boring jobs before we get where we want to be. I have been out in a dark forest putting advertising that people don’t want in their mailboxes, night after night for the longest time. And that is just one of the jobs. We gotta start somewhere. Just keep your head up, keep aiming at your target and keep a good attitude. There is a principle that goes something like this.

“If you do a good job with small tasks and little responsibility, you will do a good job with bigger tasks and more responsibility.”

I think Jesus said that. If you make amazing websites without compromising quality when you are at home practicing, you are ready to deliver great products when you get out there to the customers. Don’t sit around waiting for “the big opportunity”, work with what you have or you wont be ready when the opportunity strikes.

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

That is a good quote. Birth visions and follow them, keeping your head up and a good attitude in all the tasks you are given along the way. You only have one shot at this life – do it well.
