What is on your heart?

Finally! I have made the first WordPress theme in the history of Skylimit Productions. It has been both fun and challenging to once again enter a field where I have no experience, but that is where you grow. The theme is called Old Newspaper.

There is a new version of Old Newspaper out now. Totally remade from scratch with more options than ever. Check out the demo, pricing and contact info at old-newspaper.com. The theme described in this old blogpost don’t exist anymore.

This theme grew from a few core thoughts. One; I like the look of old newspapers. Two; I wanted readers to focus on the text and meet as few disturbances as possible when reading an article. Three; I wanted it responsive and mobile ready. And this is where the theme landed. If your words are your art, this theme offers plenty of focus to every word at a nice readable size. I have been generous with white-space so when you enter into the text, you’ll move away from all the menu bar and everything that might disturb you.

Here, have a look. And after your look, read more documentation and see the live preview at http://skylimit.productions/oldnewspaper/. Please grab the edge of your browser and pull and drag till your trackpad overheats. The responsiveness jumps and slides around thanks to jQuery masonry.

If you are interested in using it, you can contact us through skyprod.se.

How to Make Hand Drawn Logos in Illustrator

One of my personal favorite approaches to making logos in Illustrator, is where you hand draw it first, then scan or photograph it and pull it into Illustrator to vectorize it and refine it. Using this approach you have the opportunity to either straighten up your lines and turn your simple sketch into a perfectly symmetrical…
