Finally we release a font! Inspired by my current reading of Harry Potter and the infamous store Flourish and Blotts, I have named the typeface Ink & Blotts. It was a typeface-related side project that lead me into creating this first font of ours.

If you used a little too much ink on a sheet of paper, it would flow out in a similar way to how this typeface bulges around the edges. It is a handmade font, and it is supposed to look like a handmade font.

Genesis of the font
It all started a little spontaneously. I had just made a new word for my side project Wrds, and I thought it was so nice that before I knew it I had made an entire set of letters. Inspiration grabbed me for a while, and it happened quite quickly to be honest. The hard work comes after the typeface is imported to the computer.

Glyphs
Somewhere along the path I decided I would go all the way and create a finished font, so I looked for a program, and found Glyphs to be the most attractive program in every way. Here came the point of no return. I like to finish what I start.
I did not spend too much time researching alternatives—though a little, of course—but instead spent that time learning the program. As usual I was instantly frustrated with it, since it didn’t act exactly like Photoshop and Illustrator, but very soon I was into it, and I now love it. It simplifies so many steps if the process.
Glyphs all the way!

Ink & Blotts, Typeface & Font
The typeface has 233 glyphs, which means it contains the Basic Latin and Western European typesets. You can see all the characters included, and test drive the font here.
I decided to release it as part of Wrds, and sell it here, under really simple licensing terms.
All in all, it has been a good experience, and I am happy with the result. More fonts will come in the future, as I go down that road once again—I have heard that this particular road goes ever on and on.

If you are looking for a new, handmade custom font for your brand, I am happy to help with that as well.
